Tecna Mantis Spot Welder 9000 amps
- Description
The Tecna Mantis Automotive Spot Welding Station is a high-performance, pneumatic resistance spot welding system designed for professional bodyshops, automotive repair centres, and light industrial fabrication. Combining high current output, digital process control, and integrated cooling, the unit delivers precise, repeatable welds for modern vehicle panel repair and production work.
High Output Resistance Welding Performance
The Mantis operates on resistance welding principles, delivering up to 9 kA short-circuit current and 50 kVA maximum welding power, enabling rapid fusion of sheet metals with minimal distortion.
- Nominal power: 10 kVA @ 50% duty cycle
- Maximum welding power: 50 kVA
- Secondary voltage: approx. 8V
- Supply: 400–415V three-phase
Pneumatic Welding System for Consistency
A key advantage of the Mantis is its pneumatic spot welding gun (type X), which ensures consistent electrode pressure during welding.
- Controlled clamping force improves weld quality
- Reduces operator fatigue compared to manual guns
- Ensures repeatable weld penetration across multiple cycles
Multi-Function Automotive Repair Capability
The Tecna Mantis is a complete automotive repair station, offering multiple functions beyond standard spot welding:
- Resistance spot welding of sheet steel
- Dent pulling using nails and washers
- Panel shrinking with carbon electrode
- Stud and screw welding
- Localised heating for panel shaping
Dual Gun Operation & Program Recall
The system allows simultaneous connection of two welding tools (e.g. double-sided gun and single-sided spotter), with automatic recall of the correct welding program for each tool.
- Eliminates the need for manual reconfiguration
- Reduces setup time between operations
- Minimises operator error
A double-function trigger system further enhances workflow efficiency by allowing quick switching between functions.
Integrated Water Cooling System
The Mantis features water cooled arms to maintain optimal operating temperatures during continuous use.
- Prevents overheating of transformer and cables
- Supports high duty cycles and prolonged operation
- Extends component lifespan and reliability
TE95 Microprocessor Control System
At the core of the Mantis is the TE95 digital microprocessor control unit, providing precise adjustment of welding parameters:
- Weld time control (cycles and pulses)
- Current adjustment and compensation
- Program memory for repeat operations
- Consistent weld quality across varying materials
