How to Mix Sifbronze Brazing Flux Powder (FO010050) Quick & Easy Guide

Sifbronze brazing flux FO010050 is a general-purpose, powder-based flux designed for bronze brazing and oxy-acetylene welding of copper, brass, and steel. Before use, it must be mixed with water into a paste for effective application on joints.

Heres how to correctly mix Sifbronze flux powder into a usable flux paste:

    • Use a clean, non-metallic container
Choose a small ceramic or heat-resistant plastic dish. Avoid using metal as it may react with the flux.

    • Add a small amount of flux powder
Scoop out the required amount of Sifbronze  flux powder just enough for your current job.

    • Gradually add clean water
Add clean, preferably distilled water one drop at a time while mixing continuously.

    • Mix to a smooth, toothpaste-like paste
Stir until you achieve a thick, smooth consistency. The paste should easily cling to the workpiece without running.

    • Apply directly to the joint area
Use a small brush to apply the paste where the brazing rod will flow. Make sure the base metals are clean and free from oil or oxidation.

    • Only mix what youll use freshly mixed paste gives the best protection during brazing

    • Store unused powder in a dry, sealed container

    • Clean the joint before applying the paste for maximum bond strength

    • Heat the joint gently to allow the flux to melt and protect the surface before applying filler rod
